| JULIE ASATO was
born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her first feature film Better Luck
Tomorrow screened at the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals
in 2002. Better Luck Tomorrow was picked up by MTV Films
and had its theatrical release in 2003. Julie also produced two award
winning documentaries for the Japanese American National Museum. Crossover,
a documentary on the Japanese American basketball leagues was developed
for an exhibition at the Museum. She created and produced Interactions,
a pilot for an educational series funded by a major grant from the
Civil Liberties grant program. Currently she is developing a number
of projects for Trailing Johnson Productions and is finishing up Spotlighting
a documentary for PBS about an Asian American lounge act. |
